Nathan Scoggins takes a moment on What Remains film.

Beauty and tragedy coexist, often at the same time; I’ve always been fascinated by both.

I’ve been writing and directing since childhood — plays then (not so much now). I’m fortunate to have made movies, TV shows, music videos, short films and commercials with friends and collaborators who help me turn words into light. LA by way of RI, which means I know how seafood is supposed to taste (but too often doesn’t).

As a writer I’ve written projects for studios and production companies including Lionsgate, Sony, & Blumhouse; I’ve worked for and developed projects with the producers of WEDDING CRASHERS, STRAIGHT OUTTA COMPTON and HORRIBLE BOSSES; I’ve directed commercials and web spots for clients including Focus Features and Frito-Lay; two of my award-winning short films were released on DVD by Lionsgate. I directed the pilot and second episodes of DESTINATION HEAVEN, a new TV show for Great American Media that is set to premiere in May 2024, and am currently writing a thriller for STX Studios and developing a TV show with the producer of WHEN CALLS THE HEART.

In addition to my writing and directing work, I have spoken about and taught filmmaking for a number of different institutions and organizations over the years, including JPCatholic, APU, Bethel Conservatory of the Arts, Act One, Grand Canyon University, NY Film Academy, Stage 32, and Biola University. I like to lift while I climb.

My favorite things however include fire pits, Moscow Mules, and time with my wife and three daughters.
